Binghamton man busted after stealing vehicle and abandoning it at a gas station

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — A Binghamton man stands accused of stealing a vehicle in the city, before abandoning it at a gas station in the town of Union.

New York State Police at Endwell say they arrested Christian R. Wilson, age 23, on Aril 15 for the felony of criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree.

State troopers were dispatched to the report of a vehicle left running in the Speedway parking lot in Union. When the police showed up, they didn’t see anyone near the car or truck. After a further investigation, they determined that the vehicle had been taken by Wilson without permission from the city of Binghamton.

State Police say they learned that Wilson was also stopped that same night by a Broome County Sheriff’s deputy in the city in a different stolen vehicle.

State troopers located Wilson in Binghamton and arrested him. He was ordered to appear in the Town of Union Court on June 2, to face the charge.
