SYRACUSE — The Binghamton location of the Rescue Mission’s Thrifty Shopper chain has hit $1 million in sales for the first time in its history.
“It is an amazing accomplishment that took a tremendous amount of hard work,” Rescue Mission Executive Director and CEO Alan Thornton said in a news release. “This means a whole lot of meals, beds, clothes and hope for the future have been provided because of their efforts.”
The Binghamton Thrifty Shopper opened in 2003 and is located at 1139 Upper Front St.
The Rescue Mission, based in Syracuse, provides an array of services for the poor and homeless. It has 12 Thrifty Shopper stores in a six county area. It recently opened a new retail outlet, 3fifteen, near the Syracuse University campus.
Thrifty Shopper stores are in Auburn, Baldwinsville, Binghamton, Cicero, Cortland, East Syracuse, Fairmount, Liverpool, North Syracuse, Oswego, Syracuse, and Watertown.
