Binghamton University seeks applications for Ross fund grants

Binghamton LogoVESTAL, N.Y. — Binghamton University says applications are available for the 2017 grant cycle of the Stephen David Ross University and Community Projects fund.

Ross, a Binghamton University faculty member, established the fund in 1998 to “further advance working partnerships between the university and the community,” the school said.

The Ross fund awards grants based on priorities that include promotion of collaboration and cooperation between university and community groups.

They also include “innovative” use of the talents and resources of project partners; demonstrated commitment to the use of existing funds or to obtaining matching funds; and “significant, enduring and positive” differences in the quality of life of the community.

The application deadline is April 10. Grant applications, full guidelines, and further information are available on the Stephen David Ross University and Community Projects fund website: http://www.binghamton.edu/giving/ross-fund/

Grant funds are available beginning July 1, the university said.

The fund in 2017 will award about $13,500 in grants to nonprofit organizations in partnership with the school. Individual grants range from $1,000 to $13,500.
