SYRACUSE — John Brusa, Jr., of Solvay, has been elected to serve on the board of directors for the New York State Association for Solid Waste Management (NYSASWM).
As vice president in the solid waste group at Barton & Loguidice, DPC (B&L), Brusa is responsible for all facets of solid-waste engineering, the company says.
Brusa managed the B&L team that provided permitting and design services for the development of the country’s first municipal solar landfill, closure-capping project in Madison County, and the innovative one-stop recycling and reuse facility (the “ecopark”) in Monroe County, B&L said in a news release.
The NYSASWM says it is New York state’s oldest and largest statewide solid waste organization, and was founded with a mission to promote efficient, effective, and environmentally sound solid-waste management practices in New York.
Barton & Loguidice, DPC, is an engineering, planning, environmental, and landscape architecture firm with offices in Syracuse, Watertown, Albany, Ellenville, Rochester, and Newburgh, N.Y., and a location in Camp Hill, Pa.
