UTICA, N.Y. — The Boilermaker has added new members to its marketing and public-facing staff.

Scott Gwilt is the new marketing and corporate-sponsor manager. In this role, he will work closely with the Boilermaker’s roster of corporate sponsors and in its marketing efforts. Gwilt is a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University and brings more than 20 years of communications, marketing, and relationship-building experience to the job. His prior employers included Rome Health, Mohawk Valley Health System, and The Daily Sentinel.

Vikki Townsend will work to further develop the Boilermaker’s community-based programming and marketing efforts in her new role as community outreach and marketing manager. She is a Utica College graduate and has worked in the communications and marketing industry locally and in Manhattan for more than seven years. Townsend’s previous employers include Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona and G&S Business Communications and Translation LLC in the New York City area.

The Boilermaker Road Race returns to its typical July race date this year, after being held virtually in 2020 and in October in 2021. This year’s 15k race is set for July 10.
