Bonadio promotes Clark to chief risk and administrative officer

The Bonadio Group has promoted firm partner Kristen Clark to chief risk and administrative officer. The firm — which calls itself upstate New York’s largest independent provider of accounting, consulting, and financial services — says the move is part of its growth plans.

In her new role, Clark will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of human resources, facilities, and productivity as a part of Bonadio’s enterprise team. In addition to her new responsibilities, Clark will continue to serve as the partner in charge of professional excellence.

Clark has been with the Rochester–based accounting firm for the past 26 years, providing professional services — including financial audits, special project consulting, and other professional engagements — to a wide range of tax-exempt, public authority, and health-care organizations. Clark has also directed all education and quality initiatives for the firm.

“As we continue to move closer to becoming a top 50 accounting firm in the country, we have to understand the evolving needs of our clients,” Tom Bonadio, CEO and managing partner of The Bonadio Group, said in a news release. “Kristen’s new position is a logical step in that evolution, as she is one of our “home grown” partners, having started with us right out of college. Her commitment to The Bonadio Group and eagerness to learn will help her to succeed in this new role for the firm.”

Bob Enright, COO, leads the enterprise team at Bonadio, and will continue to be responsible for brand stewardship, strategic and market planning, competitive analysis, new product development, website development, and IT management, as well as overseeing all advertising and PR activities.

“Kristen has had her hand on the pulse of the firm from a state-wide perspective for several years, and the decision to add more responsibilities to her plate was an easy one,” Enright said in the release. “She is very well-respected among her peers at the firm, and in her new role, she will be able to leverage her relationships with Bonadio employees across the state to help us continue to grow and enhance the services we offer to our clients.”

Clark has been a member of Bonadio’s board of directors for the past three years. The board consists of nine partners, including Bonadio’s executive management team — Tom Bonadio, Mario Urso, and Bruce Zicari. Board members are nominated for a three-year term and voted on by the firm’s 49 partners across the state.

The Bonadio Group has additional offices in Buffalo, Syracuse, Albany, Geneva, Perry, New York City, and Utica. The firm has 400 employees and projected revenue of nearly $55 million for its 2013 fiscal year.

Clark received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from St. John Fisher College. She is a fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, where she is part of a statewide committee on peer reviews.
