Broome Co-operative announces new leadership

Steven Coffey

Steven Coffey’s retirement comes after 12 years with the company and more than 40 years in the insurance industry. He joined Broome Co-operative Insurance in 2006 to lead the company’s modernization initiatives, which included strategic investments in technology and attaining an A.M. Best financial rating.

“We would like to thank Steve for his extraordinary leadership and vision. He was instrumental in guiding the company through a strategic transformation, positioning it for future success,” Ralph Kelsey, board chair, said in the release.

Siobhan Davey

Davey has served as chief operating officer of Broome Co-operative Insurance since 2010. She helped lead the company’s new product development and agency expansion throughout upstate New York. Davey has more than 25 years’ experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry. She is the first female CEO in the company’s 130-year history.

Ian Coffey

Ian Coffey has served as VP of finance for the last two years. He joins Broome Co-operative Insurance from JP Morgan Chase.

Broome Co-operative Insurance Company, located in Vestal, is a regional property and casualty insurance company serving New York state. It writes “Main Street” focused commercial insurance policies, as well as personal lines throughout Upstate via its network of more than 120 independent insurance agents.
