Donenko was charged with the misdemeanors of criminal mischief, criminal trespass, aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, as well as the violation of unlawful possession of marijuana, according to a news release from the New York State Police.
The State Police said a trooper was dispatched on Monday night just after 8 p.m. for a report of a dark pickup truck “ripping up the lawn” at the Whitney Point Fairgrounds. The trooper interviewed Donenko, who was in the area but denied creating the damage. The next morning, a trooper following up on the incident observed Donenko in the enclosed portion of the Fairgrounds property in his truck. He located Donenko and his investigation determined that Donenko created the damage the night before and had returned to observe the damage in the daylight.
Donenko was arrested Tuesday morning. He was found to be in possession of a small quantity of marijuana, a suspended license, and an active bench warrant with the city of Binghamton Police Department. He is ordered to appear in the town of Triangle Court on May 14, the release stated. Donenko was turned over to the city of Binghamton Police Department to answer to his charges on the warrant.
