Broome County reports four COVID-19 deaths in last day

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — Broome County Executive Jason Garnar announced four additional coronavirus-related deaths on Thursday, bringing the county’s total to 98 since the pandemic started.

The victims were two females — one in her 70s and one in her 80s — and two males — one in his 60s and one in his 70s.

The county’s last COVID-19 death was announced Monday, after a man in his 80s passed away.

Broome County has 599 active infections, 3,522 total cases, and 2,825 total recoveries. Nearly 5,200 people are under quarantine.

Garnar also reported that 45 Broome County residents are hospitalized with COVID-19 and 27 additional people from outside the county are hospitalized in Broome County’s hospital systems.
