Brown named new head of Falcone Center

SYRACUSE — The former chairman, CEO, and president of O’Brien & Gere has been named executive director of the Falcone Center for Entrepreneurship at Syracuse University’s Martin J. Whitman School of Management.

Terry Brown, who was at O’Brien & Gere from 1975 to 2011, took over as the Falcone Center’s executive director on May 21. He will manage the center’s budget and development efforts, advise students, attempt to develop entrepreneurship on and off campus, and steward the center’s strategic plan.

“Being a part of Syracuse University and the Whitman School of Management, having the opportunity to lead the Falcone Center for Entrepreneurship is a great honor,” Brown said in a news release. “The potential to provide best-in-class experiential learning opportunities to SU students, connecting to the community and businesses, and playing a role in the economic growth of Central New York is unlimited. It is an exciting time to join this great institution.”

The Falcone Center is an outreach arm of the Whitman School of Management’s Department of Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises. It is tasked with sparking on-campus, local, and regional entrepreneurship activity.
