Brusa takes over as Barton & Loguidice CEO

SALINA, N.Y. — Barton & Loguidice, D.P.C. (B&L) announced that John Brusa, Jr. became its new president and CEO on Jan. 1.

Brusa replaces Nicholas Pinto, who retired at the end of 2016, the firm said in a news release.

The firm’s “long-standing” ownership transition plan “precipitated” the leadership change, the company said.

B&L’s board of directors voted to approve Brusa for the role following the recommendations of the company’s selection committee, the company said in an email response to a BJNN inquiry.

Barton & Loguidice is a Salina–based engineering, planning, environmental, and landscape-architecture firm.

Besides its Salina headquarters, B&L operates New York offices in Newburgh, Ellenville, New Paltz, Albany, Rochester, and Watertown, with additional offices in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania and Lanham, Maryland.

About Brusa

The B&L board approved the selection of Brusa, a resident of Solvay, following his years as leader of the firm’s solid-waste management group.

As a licensed professional engineer in six states, Brusa has led engineering teams on “many” permitting, design, and construction projects throughout the eastern U.S., the firm said.

He plans to “stay engaged” with the firm’s solid-waste practice in his new role, it added.

“Having contributed to the firm’s success for more than 20 years, I’m humbled to be elected to this position,” Brusa said in the release. “I’m grateful to lead a company that is built upon integrity, a solid financial foundation and operated by a committed group of professionals that go above and beyond every day for our clients and our community.”

Brusa is a graduate of Clarkson University and the American Council of Engineering Companies’ (ACEC) New York Leadership Institute.
