NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. — Business Machines & Equipment (BME) plans to soon move its headquarters from New Hartford to Mohawk.

BME’s corporate office is currently at 8375 Seneca Turnpike in New Hartford. The new office will be located at 5 Ann Street in Mohawk. BME’s sister company, Hummels Office Plus, is headquartered across the street. Both companies also share space at 6731 Collamer Road in DeWitt, BME said.

BME is moving to a two-story building in Mohawk that has been under renovation for more than a year. It will include a technology showroom that crews will complete in the first quarter of 2022 with over 15,000 square feet of office space and 65,000 in distribution and warehouse space. The company says it will be “all moved in” the first week of November.

“Our company is growing by leaps and bounds and we’re excited for this new chapter at BME,” Steve Mitchell, VP of sales and development, said in a statement. “By moving our corporate office to the Mohawk Valley, it will provide a synchronization of processes with Hummel’s, while expanding our warehouse space and distribution channel. We will be able to better serve our clients from the greater Syracuse area to the greater Albany area and everywhere in-between. We will be able to provide same-day service and deliver consumables to all our customers within 24 hours of ordering.”

BME provides software products and office technology from Canon, Xerox, and Kyocera as well as FP Postage systems. The company has provided office products, with service throughout upstate New York, for more than 30 years.
