SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Rochester–based Butler/Till says it closed the Syracuse office of its subsidiary the Digital Hyve on Oct. 10.
Two years after Butler/Till acquired Digital Hyve, the two firms will now operate as a single brand, the Rochester company tells CNYBJ in an email. Butler/Till says it will “continue its commitment” to the Central New York region and will look to attract talent and clients from Syracuse and the surrounding area. Employees of Digital Hyve will now be under the Butler/Till brand and will work remotely and from the Rochester headquarters of Butler/Till.
“This business decision was made to provide a broader set of services to all clients more seamlessly and provide additional opportunities for the Digital Hyve employees who have now become Butler/Till employees. We will be transitioning through the balance of 2023 and will officially merge service offerings and operations in 2024,” Chelsea Salitan, director of marketing at Butler/Till, said in an email.
Butler/Till has 10 employees in the Syracuse region who all work remotely, she noted.
Butler/Till — a women-owned, employee-owned, marketing agency — in June 2021 announced it had acquired the Digital Hyve, which operated its Syracuse office at 126 N. Salina St. Under the terms of the agreement, Digital Hyve became a wholly owned subsidiary of Butler/Till.
Prior to the acquisition, the Digital Hyve had operated offices in both Syracuse and Rochester. Jeff Knauss, co-founder and CEO of the Digital Hyve, and Digital Hyve COO Jake Tanner exited the company at the end of 2021 to pursue other ventures.
