SYRACUSE, N.Y. — M&T Bank recently announced it has appointed Mark V. Byrne, president & CEO, of Sonbyrne Sales Inc./Byrne Dairy Stores, to its Directors Advisory Council for Central New York.

Serving as ambassadors to the business community, the 10-member council meets regularly throughout the year to provide bank leadership with valuable perspectives and solutions for how M&T can grow, strengthen, and improve the Central New York community, the bank said in a release.

Byrne brings more than 30 years of business-management experience and community involvement.

“Mark is an innovative, forward-thinking CEO and his roots run deep in our region, making him the ideal local leader to help generate new ideas and new approaches for our Directors Advisory Council,” Steve Gorczynski, M&T Bank’s regional president for Central New York, said. “Not only is the breadth of his professional accomplishments impressive, but his passion for civic service aligns with M&T’s commitment to uplifting our communities in 2023 and beyond.”

Byrne is a graduate of Syracuse University with a degree in marketing/marketing management and is an Advisory Council member for the Le Moyne College Madden School of Business.
