ROME — C & D Advertising recently announced it has received its certification from New York State as a minority or woman-owned business (MWBE).
Located at 103 West Court St. in Rome, the 26-year-old business began the certification process in January 2021 when President Jennifer Brillante became the majority owner after buying C & D Advertising from founder George Carpenter.
“We are honored to receive the MWBE certification,” Brillante said in a statement. “As a woman, wife, mother of two sons, and a business owner, I deeply understand the challenges and perceptions we face in striving for equal footing with our male counterparts. Women often find themselves working twice as hard to balance the demands of personal and professional life, all while leading with empathy and resilience. Our culture will keep people at the heart of C & D Advertising as we serve those with whom we are blessed to do business.”
Founded in 1997 by Carpenter and Barry Damsky as Carpenter & Damsky Advertising, the firm hired Brillante in 2012. Today, C & D Advertising specializes in creating innovative advertising and marketing initiatives for clients, which include Enchanted Forest Water Safari, Symeon’s Greek Restaurant, Clinton Tractor, Cliff’s Local Market, Buy Madison County, and more. C & D services include advertising and marketing solutions such as business-strategy planning, media buying, and video and graphic-design services.
