DeWITT, N.Y. — CADimensions, Inc. announced it has acquired the assets of Unitec, Inc. of Middletown, Connecticut.
The transaction closed Aug. 1, Kevin Keefe, marketing manager for CADimensions, tells BJNN in an email.
It’s a deal that will give CADimensions the ability to serve the entire Northeast territory with Dassault Systems 3D Experience and SolidWorks engineering software products, CADimensions said.

Imagine this. You have an employee who is on leave pursuant to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and you discover that the employee is working for another employer.
The company didn’t disclose any terms of its acquisition agreement with Unitec.
CADimensions has been a provider of tools and products for the engineering and manufacturing community since 1990, according to a company news release.
“We are extremely excited to be working together with the former Unitec team as we expand our CADimensions mission and vision into Connecticut and the New England markets with our multiple locations across the Northeast,” Pete DiLaura, president and CEO of CADimensions, said in the release. “Our relationship with Unitec over the past 30 years has always been very positive and open and we look forward to working with their team on new software application solutions and products for their customers.”
Unitec, which launched in 1988, is an engineering technology-based sales and consulting organization.
The transaction also represents a succession plan for Scott Wilkman, Unitec’s president and owner, Keefe says in response to a BJNN inquiry. Wilkman ended his involvement with Unitec on Aug. 1, Keefe adds.
Otherwise, the DeWitt firm adds four employees in the deal and Unitec will move forward under the CADimensions name, Keefe says.
“CADimensions and [Pete] have been friends and allies with Unitec for many years. We have been associated for 30 years in this industry. I have the highest respect and confidence that this merger can only bring a higher level of service and support to Unitec’s customers,” Wilkman said in the CADimensions release.
Besides DeWitt, CADimensions has New York locations in Buffalo, Albany, and Rochester; Pennsylvania offices in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia; and its newest location in Middletown, Connecticut.
