Carbone Auto Group starts construction on new collision and fleet center

UTICA —The Carbone Auto Group earlier this month formally broke ground on a new collision and fleet sales center to be constructed just north of the Don’s Ford/BMW/Subaru dealership location on Route 12 N in North Utica.

The 22,000-square-foot facility will house the fleet and commercial sales division of Carbone Auto Group and a new collision center, according to a Carbone news release.

The collision center has 25 bays, including two prep deck bays, two drive-in inspection bays, dustless prep areas as well as auto and large-truck paint booths able to accommodate tractor trailers, motor homes, and even buses, the auto dealership and service company said. The center will also offer glass repair and paint-less dent repair. Adjusters will be on-site to offer “quick estimates” and insurance adjustments.

The fleet and commercial sales department will occupy about 1,700 square feet of the new building with offices and conference rooms. A new parking lot with high-efficiency LED lighting for displaying the inventory of fleet and commercial vehicles is also planned.

The new building is expected to be completed by the end of December this year, Carbone said.

Carbone Auto Group is a division of Lithia Motors, Inc. It has dealerships in Yorkville, North Utica, and Troy, New York, plus Bennington, Vermont. Oregon–based Lithia acquired the local, family-owned owned Carbone in September of last year.
