Cayuga Health hires new VP of marketing and communications

ITHACA, N.Y. — Cayuga Health announced it has appointed Melissa Tourtellotte as VP of marketing and communications.

In this role, she will oversee brand equity and development, internal and external public relations, marketing communications, and philanthropic initiatives across the organization.

“I am thrilled to join Cayuga Health and to lead the marketing communications team,” Tourtellotte said in a news release. “Cayuga Health is a leader in the innovative programs and is growing across the Finger Lakes region to offer care to more community members. My expertise in data-driven marketing and communication will enhance our effectiveness, allowing Cayuga Health to further invest in the services our communities need for optimal well-being.”

Tourtellotte brings more than 10 years of experience leading rural health-system marketing, communications, and recruitment teams. She began at Cayuga Health August 29 and reports directly to President and CEO Dr. Martin Stallone.

Prior to joining Cayuga Health, Tourtellotte served as senior director of physician recruitment for Guthrie Medical Group in Sayre, Pennsylvania, director of strategic marketing and communications for The Guthrie Clinic, and marketing director at Bassett Healthcare Network in Cooperstown.

Tourtellotte received a bachelor’s degree from Hamilton College and a master’s degree in marketing from Walden University.

Cayuga Health (www.cayugahealth.org) operates Cayuga Medical Center, Schuyler Hospital, multi-specialty group Cayuga Medical Associates, and a network of more than 400 providers with Cayuga Health Partners. Across all the affiliated organizations, Cayuga Health employs more than 2,500 people and serves multiple counties through Central New York and the Finger Lakes region.
