ITHACA — The American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer has given Cayuga Medical Center’s cancer program a three-year term of accreditation with commendation.
The accreditation comes after an on-site evaluation. It means the Cayuga Cancer Center complies with standards on cancer-committee leadership, data management, clinical services, research, community outreach, and quality improvement.
Cayuga Medical Center is a 204-bed regional medical center. It is located at 101 Dates Drive in Ithaca.
The Commission on Cancer sets standards for cancer care, surveys facilities, collects data, and develops interventions to improve cancer care.
