CBORD names Danowski VP of foodservice management solutions

ITHACA — The CBORD Group, Inc., a provider of cashless-card systems used to buy food on many college campuses, has appointed Damian Danowski as vice president of CBORD Foodservice Management Solutions, effective Dec. 2.

As a member of CBORD’s executive management team, Danowski is responsible for the firm’s engineering and development groups, product management, and the CBORD interface team for the foodservice-management solutions business. Danowski reports to Max Steinhardt, president of CBORD, the company said in a news release.

“Damian brings over 25 years of progressive growth and leadership experience in software transaction systems to CBORD. We are very pleased to have him as part of our leadership team,” Steinhardt said in the release.

Danowski comes to CBORD from Maryland–based Message Systems, Inc., where he was vice president of engineering with a team of over 40 engineers, according to CBORD. His team delivered three-fold revenue growth, the release stated.

Prior to Message Systems, Danowski held a variety of executive positions at companies including Exostar, Hewlett-Packard, and Ernst & Young. Danowski holds a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University.

CBORD, based near Ithaca, says it serves colleges and universities, health-care facilities, corporations, senior living facilities, supermarkets, and more. CBORD’s products are used in campus ID card privilege control, access control, integrated security, housing services, food service, catering, nutrition services, online ordering, and other activities.

Founded in 1975, the company has more than 6,000 clients in the U.S., Canada, Europe, South Africa, the Middle East, New Zealand, and Australia.

CBORD employs more than 400 people companywide and about 230 in Central New York. Its headquarters is located at 61 Brown Road in the village of Lansing.

CBORD is a unit of Roper Industries, Inc. (NYSE: ROP), which provides engineered products and services for global niche markets, including water, energy, transportation, medical, education, and information networks.
