ITHACA — Three companies will participate in the latest round of the JumpStart program from the Cornell Center for Materials Research.
Empire State Development’s Division of Science, Technology, and Innovation (NYSTAR) funds the program. It aims to help small businesses develop and improve their products through collaborations with universities.
More than 50 companies have participated since the program began. Projects this fall include:
– Innovative Dynamics of Ithaca will work to develop a silicone rubber tape that can be used in the aerospace industry.
– Mesha of Williamsville will perform a laboratory assessment of a new capacitor technology for use in wind energy applications.
– SensGard of Pittsford will work to create a testing method the company can use for foam materials with applications in hearing protection.
The application period for spring 2013 projects opens Sept. 28. More information is available here.
