“We are proud to honor these member businesses for their outstanding success, and the role they play in strengthening the region,” Robert Simpson, president and CEO of CenterState CEO, said in the news release. ”During the last year, these companies have excelled in creating jobs, making new investments and engaging with the community.”
The theme of this year’s annual meeting is “Lead with Intention,” and the event will examine how businesses and communities can “evolve to create transformational change, and maximize business success and human potential — at all levels.”
The finalists
Haylor, Freyer & Coon, Inc., a Salina–based insurance firm; Knowles Precision Devices of Cazenovia; and DeWitt–based Thompson & Johnson Equipment Co., Inc. are the three finalists in the “More than 50 employees” category.
CenterState CEO lists CBD Companies of CNY, LLC, a Syracuse–based construction and real estate firm; Syracuse–based Gardner & Capparelli CPAs, LLP; and Canastota–based Northeast Information Discovery, Inc. as the final contenders in the “Less than 50 employees” category.
Loretto, a Syracuse–based health-care organization providing services for older adults throughout Central New York; SRC, Inc., a Cicero–based nonprofit corporation that focuses on areas that include defense, environment, and intelligence; and UPS, a package delivery and supply chain management company, are the three finalists in the “Community Involvement” category.
In addition, Citronelle, a new bar, restaurant, and event space in Armory Square; NJ Jones Plumbing, LLC of Syracuse; and Xeo Air, Inc. are the finalists in the “Minority-owned Business” category, as selected in partnership with the Upstate Minority Economic Alliance (UMEA).
The UMEA is an organizational partner of CenterState CEO and “the only Chamber of Commerce in the Upstate & Central New York region for minority business owners and professionals of color,” per the CenterState CEO website.
CenterState CEO also lists Nascentia Health, Inc. and Redhouse Arts Center, Inc., both of Syracuse; along with the YMCA of Greater Syracuse, Inc., as the finalists in the “Nonprofit” category.
