CenterState CEO board elects Stanley as new chairperson

SYRACUSE — CenterState CEO, the region’s major business and economic-development organization, announced that its board of directors has elected a new chairperson.

The board unanimously elected Deborah Stanley, president of the State University of New York (SUNY) at Oswego, as its new leader. She succeeds Allen Naples, regional president of M&T Bank, in that position.

In her role as president of SUNY Oswego, Stanley oversees an $800 million capital- improvement plan at the university, the establishment of new academic programs, and the growth of the SUNY Oswego Metro Center in downtown Syracuse, according to Centerstate CEO.

“I believe our region is bursting with opportunity, and CenterState CEO’s important work provides the vital links between ideas, people, organizations, and regional assets that are essential to catalyzing economic development in the 21st Century,” Stanley said in a news release.

In addition to Stanley, the CenterState CEO board also elected Orrin MacMurray, chairman of the C&S Companies and Peter Maier, president of Inficon, Inc., as vice chairpersons; as well as Gregory Loh, managing partner at Eric Mower + Associates, as secretary.

The board also reelected Stephen Fournier, district president of KeyBank, as treasurer.

CenterState CEO, headquartered in Syracuse, represents 2,000 members in a 12-county area of Central New York.
