SYRACUSE, N.Y. — CenterState CEO has announced the 15 finalists in five categories for its annual Business of the Year honor.
CenterState CEO’s Business of the Year finalists “were selected from the largest-ever pool nominated for this honor,” the organization boasted in a news release.
C&S Companies, a Salina–based engineering, architecture, and construction firm; Oswego–based Pathfinder Bank; and Thompson & Johnson Equipment Co. of DeWitt are the three finalists in the “More than 50 employees” category.
CenterState CEO lists CH Insurance of Syracuse; Ichor Therapeutics of LaFayette; and Northeast Information Discovery, Inc. of Canastota as the final contenders in the “Less than 50 employees” category.
BlueRock Energy of Syracuse; OneGroup, a Syracuse–based risk management, insurance brokerage, and employee-benefits firm; and SUNY Upstate Medical University are the trio of finalists in the “Community Involvement” category.
In addition, Liberty Resources Inc, a human-services agency; McMahon Ryan Child Advocacy Center; and Nascentia Health Inc., all of Syracuse, are finalists in the “Nonprofit” category.
Medicare Made Simple, LLC, a Medicare consultant; Thelikeminded, a public relations and marketing firm; and Brackens Financial Solutions of Syracuse are the three final contenders in the “Minority-owned Business” category, as selected in partnership with the Upstate Minority Economic Alliance (UMEA).
The UMEA is an organizational partner of CenterState CEO and “the only Chamber of Commerce in the Upstate & Central New York region for minority business owners and professionals of color,” according to the CenterState CEO website.
CenterState CEO will recognize a single company in each category during its upcoming annual meeting on April 19 at SRC Arena at Onondaga Community College. It will honor each winner for its “commitment to growth, improving our community and creating tangible impacts on our economy,” according to the news release.
“These member businesses stand out among an incredible competitive field of nominees for their outstanding success and for the role they play in strengthening our community,” Robert Simpson, president and CEO of CenterState CEO, said in the economic and business development organization’s release. “During the last year, these companies have excelled in creating jobs, making new investments and engaging with the community.”
The theme for this year’s annual meeting is “Pivot,” which will “explore the importance of shifting approaches to adjust to ever changing social, demographic and economic forces. Just as dynamic businesses must be agile to stay competitive in today’s economy, progressive communities must also be responsive to changing circumstances in order to drive growth and progress,” CenterState CEO said.
