SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Centro is adding seasonal weekend bus service to Lakeview Park, home of the Lakeview Amphitheater, and the New York State Fairgrounds beginning May 27.
The new seasonal service is a pilot program providing express bus trips from the Centro Transit Hub at 599 S. Salina St. in downtown Syracuse to the Loop the Lake Trail off Exit 7 of Interstate 690.
The service also includes the main gate of the State Fairgrounds every Saturday and Sunday through Sept. 10, Centro said.

“One of the more frequent requests we receive from customers is for weekend service to the New York State Fairgrounds and the many events that occur there,” Rick Lee CEO of Centro, said in a news release. “With the growing popularity of the nearby Lakeview Park and nearby Loop the Lake Trail, we believe the time is right to try summer service to these locations, providing service for many people who otherwise may not have access to these destinations.”
“This service will not only help our seasonal employees get to work and back home again, it will also help people to come to one of the dozens of events taking place at the Fairgrounds this spring and summer,” Troy Waffner, acting director of the State Fair, added.
In addition, select weekday midday trips on Centro’s Sy 82 Baldwinsville bus line will include service to the Loop the Lake location, the organization said.
Centro will again provide service from the Centro Transit Hub to Lakeview Amphitheater events during the upcoming summer season. Service will begin about two hours before the start of each show from the Centro Transit Hub.
Regular fares will apply to all of the above bus services. Exact trip times will be posted on its website: www.centro.org.
