ELMIRA, N.Y. — Chemung Financial Corp. (NASDAQ: CHMG), parent company of Chemung Canal Trust Company, recently announced that it has moved its annual meeting of shareholders, set for next Wednesday, May 13, to its headquarters at One Chemung Canal Plaza in Elmira.

The meeting, slated to start at 2 p.m., was previously scheduled to be held at the Holiday Inn – Riverview, in Elmira. The banking company said it moved the event to avoid large gatherings and maintain appropriate social-distancing measures, in accordance with Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s orders.

“To minimize any potential health risks, and in an abundance of caution,” Chemung Financial said it is “asking that its shareholders seriously consider not attending the meeting in-person this year.” It will broadcast the annual meeting live via telephone conference. Shareholders wishing to attend may dial (888) 390-3967 to listen to the meeting toll-free. Shareholders are asked to dial in several minutes before the meeting to ensure they are connected. The call will be in listen-only mode and the banking company will not be taking questions or accepting any votes over the telephone.
