The new building houses 37, one-bedroom apartments for seniors, the organization said.

“As of today, 27 apartments are occupied and we expect to be full by early February,” Doug Reicher, president and CEO of Christopher Community, said in the news release. “This is a beautiful new facility, in a centrally located east-side location near great shopping. All the residents are very excited to be here.”

Onondaga County and the 202 program, which the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) administers, provided funding for the apartments, according to the Christopher Community.
