SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The City of Syracuse will host an in-person, government job fair on Tuesday from 3-6 p.m. at Cecile Community Center at 174 W. Seneca Turnpike.

The city is holding the event “as part of continued efforts to support job seekers and help city government fill openings in a tight labor market,” the office of Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh said.

The job fair will feature representatives from departments across City of Syracuse government meeting residents and people interested in careers with the city.

“Not just in government but across sectors, the pandemic continues to impact recruiting and hiring. City government offers great career opportunities with excellent benefits and the ability to make a difference in the community,” Walsh contended. “I am excited that we are able to again host an in-person job fair and connect with residents interested in joining our team.”

Syracuse’s Indeed.com account, which lists city-employment opportunities, currently has 45 job openings with more coming online. The city has immediate openings in trades, administrative, and professional positions. Those interested can see open positions at http://bit.ly/syrgovjobs.

Candidates are encouraged to come to the job fair prepared for immediate interviews and have several copies of their résumés on hand. Questions about the job fair can be directed to personnel@syrgov.net or by calling (315) 448-8780.
