Clark’s Ale House to reopen in former Wise Guys location

SYRACUSE — Clark’s Ale House, a popular downtown bar that closed three years ago to provide room for the expansion of the Landmark Theatre, is preparing to reopen in a new location a few blocks away “later this year.”

That’s according to a Thursday email newsletter from the Downtown Committee of Syracuse.

The pub, famous for its “22 drafts & 1 sandwich,” will reopen in the Salina Street location that Wise Guys Comedy Club + Bistro previously occupied. The new Clark’s will offer 32 draft-beer taps instead of 22, according to the Downtown Committee newsletter.

That space is in the White Memorial Building at 201 S. Salina St. in Syracuse, according to the Downtown Committee.

The bar had operated in Armory Square for 18 years, the committee said.
