Clothing and footwear retailer opens in downtown Syracuse

SYRACUSE  —  Philadelphia–based Villa, Inc. has opened a new store in downtown Syracuse.

The store, located at 317 S. Salina St., joins 34 other Villa locations in the Northwest and Midwest. Villa is a retailer specializing in urban-inspired apparel and footwear.

“We are thrilled to welcome Villa to downtown Syracuse,” Downtown Committee of Syracuse, Inc. Executive Director Merike Treier said in a news release. “Their decision to locate on the 300 block of South Salina Street demonstrates the continued resurgence of this area that is critical to Syracuse’s identity and economic development.”

The Downtown Committee supplied a $29,200 Main Street grant for the build-out of retail space on the ground floor of the building at 317 S. Salina St. The new Villa store is located on the building’s ground floor.

The store is holding grand-opening promotions that start today and run through Sunday, March 4.

“Villa will be a great addition to the unique, quality retailers downtown Syracuse is known for,” said Peter Elitzer, developer of 317 S. Salina St. “We saw the potential in this building and this block when we began this project and are excited to be a part of the momentum occurring here.”
