CNY home builders association names Doug Klepper president

DeWITT — Builder Doug Klepper, owner of Klepper Construction Inc., has been named the 2013 president of the Home Builders & Remodelers of Central New York (HBRCNY), an association with 300 members in the residential construction industry.

“Doug has been an active member in the association and our community for many years,” says Mary M. Thompson, executive officer of the association. “He has proven himself a strong leader and I am sure he will lead the association, as he leads his business, with ethics, energy and integrity.”

Klepper was vice president of HBRCNY in 2012. Klepper Construction, founded in 1987, is a custom home-building firm based in Manlius.

Klepper is a board member of Advocates, Inc. and was one of the driving forces behind the building of Casey’s Place, the CNY pediatric respite house that helps to give parents and families of children with disabilities a brief break from their responsibilities. In January 2006, Casey’s Place was named the National Project of the Year by the National Association of Home Builders and Klepper was named the 2005 Local Builder of the Year by HBRCNY for “his work in helping to make dreams come true.”

HBRCNY also named its other executive-committee officers for 2013. The officers include Kevin Stack of Northeast Natural Homes as vice president, homebuilder Kathy Kotz as second vice president, Michael Asterino of Coldwell Banker Prime Properties as treasurer/secretary, Tracy Saunders of Saunders Companies as associate vice president, and Don Kasper of Kasper Homes as immediate past president. Kasper was the group’s president in 2012.

HBRCNY, headquartered at 3675 James Street in DeWitt, produces the annual Home & Garden Show and Parade of Homes events, showcasing area home builders and remodelers.
