ITHACA — Comfort Window Co., Inc., which describes itself as the “largest home-improvement company in upstate New York,” has opened a showroom in Ithaca.

The showroom will act as a home-improvement center for homeowners in Tompkins County, including product designs, colors, literature, and product representatives with details on ideas and estimates.

The firm wanted to create a “simpler experience” for the residents of Ithaca and Tompkins County, Fritz Gentile, general manager of Comfort Windows, said in the news release.

“We feel there is a niche there, to help our typical customer that is looking to have a worry free remodeling experience with the great customer service we are known for,” Gentile said.

Comfort Windows hired new staff for the showroom and anticipates adding more employees in 2014 as “the location grows,” Gentile said.

The company has one employee operating the Ithaca location as of now, Scott Brown, director of marketing, said in an email message to the Business Journal News Network.

Besides Ithaca, Comfort Windows operates showrooms in Geddes, Rochester, Buffalo, and Albany.

Headquartered at 3624 John Glenn Boulevard in the town of Geddes, Comfort Windows employs more than 300 people, according to its news release.
