Commission accredits St. Joe’s lab

SYRACUSE  —  The Intersocietal Accreditation Commission has accredited St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center’s Echocardiography Laboratory for the adult transthoracic area for three years.

The accreditation comes after experts reviewed the lab’s operations and technical components. It follows a case-study review.

Echocardiography deals with noninvasive sound-wave tests that produce images of the heart and its motion. The tests can measure blood volume as well as the speed and direction of blood flowing through the heart.
