GENEVA, N.Y. — Community Bank N.A. announced it has promoted James Vedora to commercial team leader in its Geneva office.

He has nearly two decades of experience in commercial lending. Vedora has been with Community Bank since June 2003, when he joined as a commercial banker. He previously worked at National Bank of Geneva as commercial banker and credit analyst.

In his new role, Vedora will manage a team of five commercial bankers. He will oversee the team’s sales process, credit administration of portfolios, and assist with the loan underwriting and approval process. Vedora will also continue to manage current client portfolios and pursue prospective clients.

“We’re thrilled for Jim to take on this key position within the bank,” Steve Rich, Community Bank’s senior VP and commercial banking group manager, said in a news release. “Jim has been with Community Bank N.A. for 16 years and is a loyal and dedicated employee. He always goes the extra mile to meet the needs of his clients and sets a wonderful example for other staff to follow. I know that his expertise and leadership will drive the continued success of our Finger Lakes commercial lending team.”

Vedora earned his bachelor’s degree from Hobart & William Smith Colleges. He resides in Geneva with his wife, Linda, and their two children, Dominick and Natalie.

Community Bank has more than 230 branches across upstate New York, northeastern Pennsylvania, Vermont, and western Massachusetts. Headquartered in DeWitt, the banking company has more than $10 billion in assets.
