DeWITT, N.Y. — Citing concerns over the “evolving situation” with COVID-19, DeWitt–based Community Bank N.A. announced it has decided to close all branch lobbies and operate solely through available drive-thrus, as of Wednesday.
All branch lobbies will be available by appointment only, including branches with and without drive-thrus.
“We believe this decision is both conservative and prudent considering the current information the [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)] has provided about COVID-19,” Hal Wentworth, Community Bank N.A. senior VP for retail banking, said in a statement. “We appreciate our customers’ continued support and understanding in this difficult time of uncertainty. Together, we can all do our part to help protect our local communities.”
