DeWITT — Community Bank System, Inc. (NYSE: CBU) today announced plans to build a 4,600-square-foot branch office in the town of DeWitt.
The company’s banking subsidiary, Community Bank NA, last month bought a 1.5 acre property at the intersection of Bridge Street and Widewaters Parkway, the firm said in a news release.
Community Bank expects to break ground on the project in late spring and anticipates crews will complete the project by late summer, the banking company said.

The upcoming DeWitt branch, the bank’s third location in Onondaga County, will offer personal-banking, business-banking, and wealth-management services. Community Bank’s two other branches in the county are situated in Skaneateles and Cicero.
The DeWitt office will include a multi-lane, drive-up teller window and ATM, which will be accessible from Bridge Street.
Plans also call for a new traffic signal at the intersection, permitting entry to the property from both the north and south bound Bridge Street lanes, Community Bank said.
Community Bank System, which is headquartered on Widewaters Parkway in DeWitt, has $7.3 billion in assets and more than 180 branch offices. Community Bank, N.A. operates across upstate New York and Northeastern Pennsylvania.
