People news: Syracuse Crunch names Hayes VP of revenue development

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Central New York Community Foundation announced that it recently elected four new board members and appointed new officers. The four new board members, who will serve who will serve three-year terms, are the following.

  • Daniel Fisher, former executive VP of human resources and organization leadership at Welch Allyn. Fisher worked for Welch Allyn for more than 30 years. He is currently board president of the William H. Seward House Museum and board chair of Nixon Uniform & Medical Wear.
  • Lee Gatta, financial planner at Prudential Financial. She is a board member of the Estate Planning Council, past board president of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, and former member of the Women’s Fund of CNY Governance Council.
  • Carolyn Gerakopoulos, former director, Oneida Public Library. Gerakopoulos, who recently retired, was instrumental in procuring substantial grants for early childhood, family, and adult literacy initiatives in Oneida and all of Madison County including the Literacy Coalition of Madison County.
  • Daren Jaime, senior pastor, People’s A.M.E. Zion Church. Pastor Jaime began his pastoral journey at People’s A.M.E. Zion Church in Syracuse in 2006. He presently serves as chaplain for the Syracuse Police Department and is a lead member of the Trauma Response Team. He also hosts radio and television shows.

The Community Foundation also announced the following new board officer appointments:

§  Chair: J. Andrew Breuer, principal, Hueber-Breuer Construction Company

§  Vice chair: Casey Crabill, president, Onondaga Community College

§  Treasurer: Craig Buckhout, principal, Rockbridge Investment Management, LLC

§  Compliance officer: Robert D. Scolaro, founder, Scolaro Law, P.C.

The Central New York Community Foundation says it is the largest charitable foundation in the region with assets of more than $226 million. It awarded $14 million in grants last year to nonprofit organizations.
