HAMILTON, N.Y. — Community Memorial Center for Orthopedics has expanded into New Hartford with a new office at 83 Genesee St. in the CNY Brain and Spine building. Their aim is to improve access to specialized orthopedic care. The expansion is made possible through a collaboration with CNY Brain and Spine, led by Dr. Nicholas Qandah. “I am honored to collaborate with Dr. Richelle Takemoto and Dr. Kamaljeet Banga to extend their skills and expertise in the region,” Qandah said in an announcement. “We have a shared commitment to providing patient-centered care and contributing to the genuine healing of our patients.” Community Memorial Center for Orthopedics provides a range of services including pediatric orthopedics, joint replacement, and sports medicine. The New Hartford office is open on Wednesdays with walk-in hours from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Patients can also schedule appointments. Takemoto will see patients in Hamilton and New Hartford. She is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in trauma care including post-traumatic reconstruction, sprain and fracture treatment, and total joint replacements of the hip, knee, and shoulder. She is the first woman in the world to perform knee replacements using the Velys robotic system. Banga, certified by the medical boards in the United States, Canada, and India, is fellowship-trained in orthopedic surgery, upper extremity, and sports medicine. Qandah, a board-certified and fellowship-trained neurosurgeon, offers cervical and lumbar spine care, spinal injury care, scoliosis treatment, and brain trauma care. Through the partnership with the Center for Orthopedics, he sees patients in Hamilton on Wednesdays. The new office complements the main office at 160 Broad St. in Hamilton, within Community Memorial’s Center for Specialties, which is open five days a week. Community Memorial Hospital is a critical-access hospital serving Madison and Oneida counties, along with parts of Chenango and Onondaga counties.
