ORISKANY, N.Y. — Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County, in partnership with Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC), is offering a workshop series for farmers and aspiring food-business entrepreneurs to learn how to accelerate their food-based business concept.

The From Recipe to Market workshop six-part series will teach participants the behind-the-scenes steps to set up their business, how to develop their recipe, as well as scaled-up processing and preparing/packaging their product safely. Participants will learn about potential profit and product-distribution avenues while starting to build a marketable business plan and a professional network of contacts.

The workshop sessions are scheduled for Wednesdays from 5:30-8:30 p.m., from March 9 through April 13 at MVCC’s Rome campus. The final session will include a tour of the professional commercial kitchen at MVCC Rome and a practice pitch session for each participant to share their story.
