WATERTOWN — COR Development Company, LLC today held an event to formally mark the start of redevelopment of the former Mercy Hospital in Watertown. The ceremony was to include the demolition of the former hospital, according to a COR media advisory issued Friday.
The Fayetteville–based real-estate development firm plans to redevelop the site into a mixed-use housing and retail complex.
COR expects the project to generate more than $100 million in combined short-term and long-term economic-impact dollars, and create more than 650 temporary jobs and over 400 permanent jobs for the North Country.
The elected officials who were scheduled to attend the event included Lt. Gov. Robert Duffy, according to his public schedule for today.
COR is also involved in the development of Syracuse’s Inner Harbor, which includes an upcoming Starwood Aloft hotel.
