Cornell Center for Hospitality Research names Sturman new director

ITHACA — Michael C. Sturman, Ph.D. has been named the new director of the Center for Hospitality Research (CHR) at the Cornell School of Hotel Administration.

In addition to his new role, Sturman is associate dean for faculty development and is the Kenneth and Marjorie Blanchard Professor of Human Resources, a news release from Cornell noted. Widely published in human-resources journals, Sturman’s research focuses on the prediction of individual job performance over time and the influence of compensation systems, Cornell said.

Sturman holds a Ph.D., a master’s degree, and a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations, and is a senior professional of human resources as certified by the Society for Human Resource Management.
Founded in 1992, CHR says it provides the hospitality industry, researchers, and students with a stream of research at no charge, thanks to the support of its industry partners.
