Cornell’s Johnson School hires leader for executive education programs

ITHACA — The Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University announced it has hired Devin Bigoness as executive director for the school’s non-degree executive education programs.

“I am very excited to be joining the team at Johnson and to capitalize on the unique opportunities that we have in front of us in executive education,” Bigoness said in a news release. “We are planning to build on Johnson’s history and brand, as a customized executive education provider, and to introduce several new strategic advancements.”

The Johnson School said this new hire signals a new focus on its range of offerings in executive education, which includes its two executive MBA programs. While the Johnson School has been delivering non-degree executive education programs since 1953, it now plans to expand its customized programs to provide clients with additional strategic education and employee development, through innovative approaches and learning processes, the school said.

Prior to joining Cornell, Bigoness served as a project director for Duke Corporate Education. In that position, he facilitated the design and development of customized executive education programs, including client-relationship management, program design, experience deliveries, and business development for clients, such as Google, IBM, Chanel, and Honeywell. Bigoness has also worked as a classroom facilitator on global programs focused on leadership, innovation, and communications.

Before joining Duke, Bigoness worked in sports marketing as brand manager for Sof Sole, the Raleigh, NC–based brand of performance-footwear accessories, according to the release. He was also previously assistant athletic media relations director at Merrimack College in Massachusetts.
