Coronavirus update: BHG tells most employees to work remotely until further notice

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Bankers Healthcare Group (BHG) is having most of its employees work from home “until further notice.”

BHG — which is headquartered in Davie, Florida — currently has its financial headquarters at 201 Solar St. in Syracuse’s Franklin Square area. The firm also operates a research and development office in New York City.

BHG has an overall employee count of more than 600 people, including about 265 in four offices in Syracuse.

“To protect yourself, to protect your family, to protect your co-workers, it would probably be a great idea if you wanted to work at home, we’ve got the technology at BHG to make that happen,” Al Crawford, co-founder, chairman, and CEO of BHG, tells CNYBJ in a Friday phone interview.

BHG will keep this policy in place for about 90 days, Crawford added but will adjust if the conditions surrounding the coronavirus emergency change.

No BHG employee has the virus, the company noted in a Thursday news release.
