LYSANDER, N.Y. — CountryMax — a Rochester–area based, family-owned retailer of pet supplies and farm and garden products — has opened a 25,000-square-foot store at 2964 State Route 31 in the town of Lysander.
The location also includes 25,000 square feet of outdoor nursery and greenhouse space, along with a mulch and soil drive-through area, according to Mandi Lenhard, marketing director for CountryMax.
The store, located near the Anheuser-Busch Budweiser plant, opened on Friday.
It’s the retailer’s third store in Onondaga County and 16th overall. Besides its locations in Lysander, Cicero, and DeWitt, CountryMax also operates a CNY store in Cortland.
The Lysander store employs between 25 and 30 workers, and will add more part-time, seasonal employees in the spring for the lawn and garden season, says Lenhard.
CountryMax plans a grand-opening event during the weekend of Dec. 10-11.
