ORISKANY, N.Y. — A new specialty fitness gym, called CrossFit Exagora, will formally open this Friday near Oriskany.

CrossFit Exagora will hold a ribbon-cutting event with the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce at 4 p.m. at the firm’s site at 5994 Judd Road in the town of Whitestown, according to a chamber announcement.

The business will also host a grand-opening event on Saturday, starting at 10:30 a.m., according to its Facebook page.

CrossFit Exagora first opened to the public on Oct. 17. Aaron Conklin, a Navy veteran, is the owner and head trainer.

The gym offers the popular workout called CrossFit. It’s a high-intensity regimen that combines activities such as running, jumping, weightlifting, rowing, sit-ups, push-ups, gymnastics, kettle bells, and jump ropes.
