Crouse appoints Seth Kronenberg as chief physican-integration officer

SYRACUSE — Crouse Hospital announced it has named Dr. Seth Kronenberg to the newly created position of chief physician-integration officer.

In this senior-leadership role, Kronenberg has oversight of physician engagement, recruitment, and integration of community-based practicing physicians in their relationships with the Crouse care network, the hospital said in a news release.

He also serves as president and medical director of Crouse Medical Practice, PLLC overseeing operations and integration activities within the Crouse delivery system, the hospital said.

Kronenberg, the son of former Crouse CEO Dr. Paul Kronenberg, is a board-certified internist and partner with Internist Associates of Central New York (IACNY).

IACNY is a 20-member provider group, the hospital said.

Seth Kronenberg also serves as the primary Crouse contact for the Crouse-affiliated Health Alliance Physician Organization (PO) and other community-based physicians for alignment and integration activities, including network development and population health-management projects, the hospital said.

Kronenberg joined IACNY in 2001 and became managing partner in 2005.

In 2010, IACNY became part of Crouse Medical Practice. The hospital appointed Kronenberg medical director at that time.

He is also a board member of the Health Alliance PO, according to Crouse.

Physician integration and partnership development has been one of the organziation’s “strategic” focus areas over the past year, Kimberly Boynton, new CEO of Crouse Hospital, said in the news release.

“This critically important role within the Crouse care-delivery network reflects our continued commitment to building on hospital/physician alignment efforts made to date and further positioning Crouse for the future,” Boynton said.
