Crouse Health recently named JAMES LEYHANE, M.D. medical director of the Crouse Hospitalist Service. He is board-certified in internal medicine and earned his bachelor’s degree in biology at Siena College and his medical degree from SUNY Medical University, where he also served as chief resident in internal medicine. Leyhane has been a practicing hospitalist since 2001, serving, most recently, as hospitalist director at St. Joseph’s Health and previously in the same capacity at Auburn Memorial Hospital. In 2000, he received SUNY’s Outstanding Resident Teaching Award and was named Physician of the Year in 2007 by the Central New York Pharmacists Association. In 2013, Leyhane became a fellow of the American College of Physicians. ANDREW GARRETT, M.D., a practicing internist and a member of the Crouse Hospitalist Service since 2014, has been named assistant medical director of the service. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Cornell University and his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Garrett completed his internship and residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals in Philadelphia.
