Crucible Industries promotes Shiesley to company president

GEDDES, N.Y. — Crucible Industries has promoted John Shiesley to company president, effective June 1.

Shiesley had previously served as VP of sales and marketing at Crucible, he tells CNYBJ in an email. The company is located at 575 State Fair Blvd. in Geddes, near the New York State Fairgrounds.

In the president’s role, Shiesley assumes the duties that CEO Dennis Lasker previously conducted. Lasker retains the CEO role, per Shiesley’s email.

Shiesley has worked for Crucible for 12 years, having held various positions in sales and management. Altogether, Shiesley’s 30 years of experience in metalworking manufacturing and distribution “provides him with the ability to grow the bottom line while spearheading operation improvements to drive productivity and reduce costs,” the company contends.
