Cuomo: 82,000 jobs available on Jobs Express website

Gov. Andrew Cuomo last week announced that more than 82,000 positions are available on the state’s Jobs Express website.

Jobs Express connects job seekers to openings in each region of the state and currently lists an average of 51,000 new jobs each month statewide, the governor’s office said in a news release.

The Jobs Express website takes thousands of jobs that employers post and sorts them by region to help job seekers evaluate what industries are growing in their area and find out what opportunities are available in specific economic sectors.

Job seekers and employers interested in learning more should visit the Jobs Express website at www.labor.ny.gov/jobs/.

“For employers and job seekers alike, Jobs Express is a tremendous resource,” Peter Rivera, commissioner of the New York State Department of Labor, said in the governor’s news release. “Not only can job seekers view available positions, employers can post jobs at no cost so they can find qualified ready-to-work potential employees in their own backyard.”

Thousands of people have been hired by companies that posted opening on the Jobs Express website since it launched in October 2011, according to the governor’s office.
