ALBANY, N.Y. — Gov. Andrew Cuomo has decided to deliver his annual State of the State message in a series of regional addresses across New York.

The New York State Constitution requires an annual message from the governor to the state legislature on the condition of the state, Cuomo’s office said in a news release issued Monday.

However, the state constitution has “no requirement on the timing or location of the governor’s message,” according to the news release.

Cuomo’s 2017 State of the State addresses are scheduled during the week of Jan 9. He’ll make his remarks in Central New York, the Capital Region, New York City, Western New York, the Hudson Valley, and Long Island.

Cuomo’s office will provide specific times and locations for the governor’s remarks “in the coming days.”
